A photograph offers snapshot of a single moment... but that snapshot captures the essence of a moment in time and preserves the visual representation and memory of it. It is a powerful visual holder of a moment and tells a story, though sometimes it may be misleading, of what was taking place in that instant; powerful enough as it gathers information that might have missed the human eye. Throughout time, moments have been captured in various forms; the visual side of moments have been captured in descriptive writing, sketches and paintings. However, the reigning King of capturing a moment is the camera. Unlike a painting, the capturing of a photograph is instant and does not rely on the capturer's memory.

Cellphone cameras and digital cameras are numerous and used or available to many persons around the world. Photographs are no longer expensive to take and need no longer be limited to special moments. The age of digital photography has birthed the premise "take a pic anytime, anywhere" and also that the selfie is king.
While many may be able to take a photograph, not all of these persons are able to have the title of photographer. And even so, not every photographer is able to capture moments that are not posed or physically paused by those on the other end of the lens. Many a weddings have had a ridiculously long delay between ceremony and reception as the couple opts to have a bridal party photo shoot. Often leaving guests waiting for unbearably long periods when what was scheduled as a 15 minute to 30 minute photo shoot becomes two to three hours long as the couple try to get as many good shots in with their bridal party. Bridal party members are often forced to endure tummy grumblings as they take shot after shot. The smile becoming harder to fake, lips being licked often to ensure the tell tale whiteness of hunger does not show on them and a growing annoyance towards the couple for going overboard. At many weddings, brides have fainted from putting themselves through an unnecessary long and demanding schedule just to facilitate long photo shoots to ensure good photographs are captured. Many couples have been disappointed, frustrated and angry after receiving the photo package only to find blurred or low quality photographs for the "in action" (that is, the non-posed for) photographs. Not every photographer is versed in the art of capturing events in motion.
Photographer Ricardo Makyn is a master at capturing in motion photography, so much so that he is an award winning photojournalist, currently working for the Jamaica Gleaner. The most basic wedding package: High resolution images on DVD/CD only for US$800*** for 5 Hours coverage.
The second tier package is US $,1100***; includes 10x10 Photo Book plus images on DVD for 6-7 Hours coverage.
The top package is US$1500*** for 8 12X12 Photobook DVD, 8 Hours coverage and an engagement shoot for 2 Hours
He is also available for Wedding Shower coverage, Editorial assignments, Sporting, Portrait Session and any corporate event.
***These charges are for photography services within the Corporate area which includes Kingston and St Andrew, Portmore and Spanish Town. If the ceremony is held outside of these areas there will be an additional charge for the traveling which would vary on the distance. Prices are subject to change.
